BEHIND IN PRACTICE
A space to keep developing your coaching

Natalie Tucker
Coach, coach trainer & supervisor
Most of us become coaches driven by a desire to help others. But to coach effectively and sustainably, we also need to pay attention to our own development.
The care and intentional challenge we offer our clients – we need it for ourselves too. I created In Practice as a home for that ongoing development.
Building reflective habits
Among my peers, and in my work as a coach trainer, I noticed a pattern: outside of training, it’s easy to feel out in the cold. Perhaps we’re coaching alongside another job, life gets busy, or we simply don’t have enough opportunities to practise or reflect – and the longer we leave it, the harder it can be to find our way back.
But there’s much more to coach development than collecting skills. We need to apply those skills, gain feedback and make time for personal reflection.
In Practice exists to help you build these habits into your coaching rhythm, so that development continues beyond training.
My journey: From social impact to coaching
My path to this work began with over twelve years in the social impact sector, working with charities, social businesses and impact investors across project management, partnerships, learning design, facilitation and impact management, before setting up as an independent consultant seven years ago.
Looking back, I can see the thread that brought me to coaching: every role involved listening deeply, understanding complex challenges and helping others build their capacity.
Once I trained as a coach, it became much more than another tool in my consulting toolkit. For the last five years, I’ve coached social leaders navigating complex responsibilities, challenging relationships and immense social need.
Why In Practice
Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand what holding space for others requires. It’s reinforced my belief that to support our clients well, coaches need dedicated time to think honestly about our work.
That’s why I began hosting the Coaching Practice Pods in 2025, trained as a supervisor and mentor coach, and ultimately brought these strands together through In Practice in 2026.
There’s no one right way to coach, and I’m not here to give you a magic formula. I’m interested in helping you look closely at your own practice, think things through, and develop the judgement and confidence to make choices that work for you and your clients.
“Natalie offers more than a space to talk through experiences. She helps you uncover what’s really happening beneath the surface, build confidence in your own abilities and develop the self-awareness needed to continue growing as a coach.”
